Sawmill Saloon Restaurant in Virginia

Food was good but service was terrible. Sat on deck seating, took 20 min to get server to give us menu's, too another 20 min till we decided to move to the bar thinking it was better service... Nope. Bartender was running around not acknowledging we ever sat down for about 20 min. Finally was about to order food. Food came out about normal timing. Bartender checked on us once while eating. Been done with food for at least 30 min before we had to ask for tab to be able to pay.. waited forever to get change after time to pay. Good food, terrible service.

The chili is one of my favorite menu items and is available every day of the year! I got it ‘loaded’ with sour cream, onions and cheese! Soooo good! Try a bowl of it and get one of their yummy breadsticks to go with it!

Dining is ok here. Wouldn't be my first pick on the Iron Range. The portions are a bit small for the prices and their burgers taste like they are made from frozen patties in my opinion. Neither good or bad just Ok food.

Service was not really consistent..did not have a server come to our table for over 30 minutes..once we did order the food was delivered fast..The meatball sandwich was delicious. The caramel apple moscow mule was even better..2 for 1 drinks during the vikings games also..

I had a specialty burger and fries. It tasted good and burger patty was bigger than the bin. Service was good, prompt, and friendly. I will come here again.

I know it's a local hotspot but our experience that day was pretty awful. Bad service less-than-average food. We will probably not try it again.

Ladies bathroom has NO handicapped rails. Spoke to a manager and he seemed less than concerned 😟. But the food was ok ?

I called in for a take out order and they were extremely rude on the phone. Even more rude when I picked up our meal. Not impressed. And our large pepperoni pizza? Maybe 10 pepperonis..

THEY DO NOT WEAR MASKS. I used to love this place. Until COVID. They don’t wear masks - employees or patrons. I ordered a to-go order. They said 20 minutes until it’s ready. I show up 25 minutes later. Waited another 20 minutes before my food came out. It was cold and overcooked. How was I waiting 20 minutes surrounded by massless people for cold AND overcooked food?They get two stars only because the manager gave me a pity gift certificate and remade the food. I should’ve gotten a refund not a gift certificate. I don’t think I’ll ever return. Update: Back to 1 star. Got food poisoning.

Highly recommend going to the Friday Fish Fry! They make their own batter, it’s always crispy, an a big piece of fish. I like mine with the waffle fries and seasoned sour cream! Amazing service also, was greeted right away!

Birthday lunch today was very slow service. Ran out of plates between appetizer and pizza. Waited a half hour to get our bill and another 20 minutes to get card back after waitress ran it.

I only go to the Sawmill for an occasional dining, but it has friendly staff and a nice food selection.

Service was pretty good, food and prices were nothing special.

Love this place. The remodel looks amazing. The food is so good and the service is spectacular. Very friendly staff. Tvs with every game playing, pull tab machine, adult beverages and good food makes for a great day.

6 of us stopped on our way home today and what a nice place. Both of the BBQ chicken sandwiches were soooooo burnt that we didn't even eat it and they sent that out???? A very disappointing meal. The other meals looked nice.

Well the Sawmill looked like fun place to try, and it smelled great when we drove by, so what the hell, we tried it, and it did not disappoint. The food, service, and cold drinks hit the spot, and was a great way to finish the night off. 😁

We stop here every year on our way home from the Boundary Waters and it never disappoints. Their food is delicious and the 2lbs of wings and a pitcher deal is our go-to (between two guys), plus a Bloody to top it off. They always run great specials too!

Food was GREAT!!! Out door seating was nice. Easy to social distance during daytime.

There's one waitress there that was kinda trying to shoe me and my wife out. But all the other waitress there treated us great.

A friend and I had just a basic cheeseburger and fries...the best that I ever had!

Awesome atmosphere! I heard live music and had a pile of Canadian wild caught blue gill! So good.

Between the Cobb salad and steak triple cheese, hands down they have the best in town! Love it here, and the girls make the experience even better. Great stop on the way through to the lake!

If you are headed north....stop here. Wow. Duck wontons. Walleye egg rolls. Barstaff that can make a drink. Sounds weird? Try them..

They just completed a remodel a couple of years ago and the place is amazing!

Service was good. Bread sticks were very hard. Buns for fish sandwich was burnt.. chicken sandwich was gross. Bun was burnt on one end and soggy on the other

It's kind of hit and miss. Been there a few times and some times the food is great and other times it's not so great.

We wouldn’t have known if the food would be good or not because they didn’t place our order. They weren’t even busy, but we were ignored anyways!!!

This fun bar/restaurant has been around for a long time!! While I still remember the old Sawmill Saloon sign that was oh - so - quaint in the '90s, the charm still remains, although a more modern / hip vibe seems to keep Millenials and Boomers enjoying beer specials and appetizers together today. A place to check out if you're passing through Virginia.

Had a Cuban sandwich that was really good! Server was excellent and always came around seeing how we were doing and getting us drink refills. Great place to eat and recommend it to anybody! Went with family to do trivia nights that are wednesday at 7:30 and had lots of fun!

1/2 price pizzas on Sundays. Come at the right time and it's not busy. Ultra kid friendly when it's low key. My kiddos love a Sunday pizza lunch, thanks to Sawmill!

They have great food n great service

Some of the worst service I have ever had, waited for drinks and ordered food waited way to long, people came and ordered eat and left. Well never go back got a $10.00 certificate will give to somebody I don't like.

I love the environment at the sawmill! I tried the JD burger, service was amazing. Awesome owners and a wonderful place to be at!

When in Hibbing do as the Hibites do. Very good food, prepared pretty well, super nice people.
